What is small business? The Network is owned
and operated by what you might consider a very small business,
in fact, its referred to as a nanocorp. To
us (who we are)
that makes a small business with 500 employees seem large; however,
we've seen small business defined as having up to 500 employees.
Also, we've seen small businesses defined as having 100 employees
or
less. The definition
of small business in the Enterprise
and Economic Development Glossary points out that the World
Bank uses the acronym SME to identity Small and Medium (size) Enterprises.
A medium size
business by definition in the World Bank Glossary of LED Terms
is 20 to 200 employees. That must mean that 20 or less employees
defines a small business. Entrepreneurs are
often associated with small business development.

is available below for you to use to learn more about

the entrepreneurial spirit

... is a mindset reflected in risky actions
taken to create or improve something over which there is,
at least, the perception of ownership. The entrepreneur has
an inherent disposition towards individualism and independence.
All too often the entrepreneurial spirit leads to reliance
of intuitiveness in the
decision making process. On the one hand, there
are many, many entrepreneurial failures
that come from dependence on intuition without the backing
of experience and
gathering facts that adequately support decision-making success—see
the definition of business
decision maker. Nevertheless, learning from failure
is the best training available for wannabe entrepreneurs.
No entrepreneurial education program has yet been introduced
that can replace experience. A wannabe need only be
taught not to fear OJT.
The experienced entrepreneur, on the other hand, knows how and when
to use intuition to an advantage or profit. There are two keys
to success: (1) calculating the risk; and, (2) networking for
facts rather than opinions. Check out the following resources:

business resource:

online resource
supplier, BusinessDictionay.com (listed above and
in the library's collection
of references) defines business resources by listing several
factors that ... provide
a firm the means to perform its business processes. The
definition suggests taking at the meaning of factors of production,
which is indicated at the outset to be a business resource ...
required
for generation of goods or services, generally classified into four major
groups. The first group mentioned in the Business Dictionary's
definition of factors
of production is land. The land factor translates

support the mission

of the second, thus producing a percentage that shows a profit

leaves one. The cost-to-profit ratio is 19:1. The total amount received
