A place where telecommunications activity is concentrated; a multiplex of telecommunication equipment, as a contact center, located within a network or system which generally has workers and/or operators present, for example, a service center as a back office operation where telephone calls and emails are answered. Here the definition of service center refers to a place a person, such as a customer (customer service) virtually visits. For example, manufacturers and retailers of electronic equipment provide technical services through telecommunication centers or network stations that direct calls to telecommuting workers.
