We (who we are), however, do not monitor use of information published online from the GRC database or attempt to control its use. The database is proprietary, provided as a resource for participants in the mission of The Network—participants are simply users from a target audience. Anyone online can freely visit and make use of .network resources. What is The Network MO as a site selection resource? It operates as a share network. It is open access. The glossary is in the .network library. Where can a site selector begin a location data search online at the national level? To begin a search for places of interest and their location data suppliers, site selectors can go to the Area Development section of Economic Development.net. A list of nations is there. Area Development is organized for .network users to step through a series of files from national or local level. AD as a site selection resource is part of a share network. That means the process depends upon those who use AD requesting that national files be opened or refreshed. A user can send an email with the name of a nation as its subject. That triggers the opening or refreshing of its file(s)—no cost or obligation involved. It's a free service. Users interested in certain regions within countries or who have lists of places of interest on hand simply add the additional request in the memo sections of their emails. Our (who we are) response to come up guidance on how to contact location data suppliers from national to local level or refresh outdated information is provided as a free service. The services we provide for the the process begins with us adding to the GRC database. Information and a tool (below) for searching is made available online through the Global Registry of Contacts before Area Development files are opened or refreshed. Therefore, if you are have places of interest in mind and are ready to search now, try the GRC first. |
