Technical schools may offer trade-related programs but are not of the same classification. A trade school is an institution providing instruction that prepares students with know-how for a specific work discipline or craft. It is an operation having a program or programs that readies people for laborforce participation by providing the entrance-level credentials for working at an acceptable standard of proficiency in a craft. Likewise, a training program is an operation of a trade union dedicated, in part, to the development of specialized member skills through apprenticeships. Programs and schools may offer on-the-job training or pre-employment training. To trade is to exchange by purchase or barter. Trading is exchangine one thing for another as a deal between two people or enterprises.
