... the process of getting underway with the operations of an enterprise; starting up a venture; the point at which a enterprise development project ends and the planned-for endeavor begins. Picture this: A site selection project brings an economic development opportunity to a community which leads to a groundbreaking for construction of a facility. Future employees of the enterprise are trained as construction is completed. The day comes when everything is ready so a ribbon-cutting takes place as a celebration. That's the point of startup.
