startup:
... getting
underway, especially the point at which the operations
of an enterprise commence;
to begin an endeavor, especially as it requires going through several
steps to set things in motion; the process
of getting underway with a new venture; to put an enterprise
and economic development project into
practical effect; to inaugurate, for example, an industrial
startup which creates a significant number of new jobs
in a place where economic development is celebrated. The example
startup may be ushered in by an event that includes a ribbon
cutting to signify
the opening of the facility for employees
to do their work.
