... an organization or person who engages in some purposeful or industrious activity from which another person or organization derives benefit; a individual or enterprise offering or providing assistance as a profession or business endeavor. A services is provided for a fee or for free.

Service providers, a found among those who gathers useful resources for members of the .network core user group. Services are resources. Resources are provided through services. The Network uses the term resource and service providers to identify its mission contacts.

service area:

... the territory covered by a service provider. Although referred to as service areas, the expression is used to identify territories covered by resource providers also.

Resource and service providers involved in the .network mission are listed in the Global Registry of Contacts. The GRC is a free access resource for .network users.

Those who provide resources and services to members of the .network core user group are invited to register with the GRC for free. That includes submitting brief descriptions of their service areas. Location data suppliers, should include lists of places for which they have information available (location data that they offer for free to prospects).

services:

... productivity as work done for others. In other words, providing a service means utilizing the mind and/or body for performing or doing something for the the purpose of attainment ... accepted as having value. Services show themselves in the form of something other than tangible goods but are classified as production whether provided for free or for a fee.

A service is an exertion on behalf of a duty, responsibility, task, appointment, or request. Employees are compensated for the value of their services. Recipients and beneficiaries of services can only take possession of accomplishments or experience consequences. There is no service inventory. What is done is set within a timeframe and ceases to exist immediately upon its delivery. Although delivered, the negative of such an effort may be referred to as a disservice.

business services

... service sector assistance available for or provided to enterprises; an expression used to describe a delivery system involving resource and service providers of interest to business decision makers, for example, those who are members of the .network target user group.
