resource supplier:

... one who provides something needed, for example, information that a member of the .network core user group can put to use. Resource suppliers have products and services to offer, as well as information. Among resource providers serving .network users are location data suppliers. For example, area and local development representatives are positioned to supply useful information about places of interest and stand ready to provide services afterwards. Services provided by economic developers as location representative include cutting red tape and solving problems that hamper enterprise development project progress.

one who provides or are available to provide something, such as helpful information, that is utilized as a means to facilitate an endeavor. For example, resource and service suppliers are factored into the process of enterprise and economic development because those who initiate projects can't get along without them. For example, the site selector needs the contact who can supply information about places of interest; the enterprise developer needs the venture capitalist as a supplier of financing to make a startup successful. Enterprises are also resource providers. Individuals and organizations are service providers, as well, often times without much though given to there being a distinction.

resource provider:

... an organization or person who supplies something useful; a contact in position to assist by providing something useful. In either case, a resource is something drawn upon for a purposeful or industrious activity. Resource suppliers have products and services. They also have information.

Contacts who have useful information about locations are needed as resource providers early in the site selection process. For example, area and local development representatives (economic developers) are typical contacts for site selectors. Altogether, those in position to assist by providing information about places of interest are simply known as location data suppliers.
