prospect:

... a qualified business lead, i.e., someone offering the potential for becoming a customer, client or purchaser of a a product or service—a lead so defined is also a business prospect or sales lead. A prospect may also be a enterprise as is candidate. There may be prospects as business decision makers at various levels within the enterprise. Targeting leads is an overt activity to create prospects. A suspect is identified after hearing about an opportunity and having enough information to target what appears to be a potential prospect.
