prospect: ... a qualified
business lead, i.e., someone offering the potential for becoming
a customer, client or purchaser of a a product or service—a lead
so defined is also a business prospect or sales

is candidate. There may be prospects as business decision makers at
various levels within the enterprise. Targeting leads is
an overt activity to create prospects. A suspect is identified after
hearing about an opportunity and having enough information to target
what appears to be a potential prospect. An economic development marketing consultant once stated that a suspect is

developer, site
selector, or anyone else with control or influence sufficient
for bringing successful conclusions to a projects
of opportunity for growth and prosperity to a location.
A marketing consultant once stated that there are two ways to define
an economic
development prospect: (the prospect has) ... a
