production: ... work that results in the creation of goods and services; processes and methods activated for making something; the systematic application of a process or method which results in an output of value that is either a tangible item or an accomplishment; a physical or mental effort or activity intended to place something for which there is a demand into a supply chain. |
production quality: ... the degree or grade of excellence of an item or service at its point of output that determines its worth and, perhaps more important, its acceptability when an attempt is made to place in the hands of its end user. In markets of near-perfect competition, the voice of the customer is the ultimate authority on production quality. Success of an enterprise operating in a free market economy depends upon anticipation of what level of quality and at what price the customer is willing to accept in conjunction with an abiltiy to produce what is expected. Equally important is the production worker's ability to understand that customer satisfaction and job go hand-in-hand. It is ultimately turns out to be counter productive when the work ethic is not oriented on excellence and customer satisfaction. Also, it is ultimately a foolish waste to shore a job that exists without it being measure by production quality that takes into account customer satisfaction. related: xx; xx
