performance:

... the way in which people, animals, and things in an accomplishment process are measured in terms of functionality or output. Things in an accomplishment process include, tools, machines, and other devices. Accomplishment takes place within processes and systems as well as being associated with one-time events. For example, performance measures are introduced into continuous processes when standards can be applied. Likewise, a task completed in accord with an agreement may be subject to performance measures on a one-time basis ... due diligence. Performance is completion of an obligation to do someting according to the terms a contract.

Performance measurement may be resisted and motivation may be threaded throughout the enterprise development process. See the definitions of process improvement and performance based management. Challenges to improve performance are everywhere ... in education, business networking, economic development and site location work. The list could go on and on.

Our performance as we (who we are) attempt to introduce useful resources into the enterprise and economic development process through a share network is a challenge because there's some much information and changes continuiously taking place. Enterprise development and economic development are processes of change. We try to meet our performance challenge by offering the promise of The Network, which is to say that we offer free personal assistance to users when they search and arrive at a dead end or find a problem. Users are otherwise unencumbered.

motivation:

... the operative word that goes along with performance, i.e. performance motivation. It's an inducement to do something. It's a stimulus for action, for example, the motivation behind the decision of an enterprise developer to network, collect information, analyze, and make the calculated risk to capitalize on success. Motivatation stimulates energy for productivity.

Motivation as a basic call to action that brings about commitment to engagement in an endeavor or exert the effort to reach a goal ... to be productive or to reach a higher level of excellence in pursuit. It's subliminal for the most part; however, conscious factors can influence how well its handled by the individual or a group. Recognition of needs, threats, desires, and rewards are conscious factors of a general nature. In terms of desire, a person may seek to hone motivational skills as part of a process of self-improvement. An employer may see a need to motivate workers in order to increase productivity and quality in order to satisfy customers. The motivational threat may be that employees don't understand customer speak. The reward for peak performance motivation may be achievement that simply makes a person feel good about oneself.
