What is a location ID?

According to Acronym Finder.com the ID initials stand for identification data.

Location ID stands for location identity, a term defined at the top of this page.

The Network supports its users interested in site selection by provided access to websites where information about places of interest can be found and to location data suppliers as well. Understanding how our (who we are) share network uses location identities can help you be more efficient in gathering information. Understanding, too, that we are ready to help you avoid search dead ends. We provide search assistance for free as a way of allowing you to help build The Network with site selection resources—how that works.

Identities begin with global regions in The Network and move through tiers. Countries follow global regions. After that are tiers of regions and administrative divisions within them.

You can page up to get started in with an examples of how to search the Global Registry of Contacts or you can access the .network user guide, Search for a Location. You can also use the search suggestions below (in italics) to Google the Web for more information. Copy the search suggestions to the search engine provided below. Where you see the word location, not locations, try substituting the identity of a place of interest to you.
