jobs retention: ... the act of keeping existing jobs in a location; a direct workforce benefit derived from successful business retention efforts; a strategic activity that is or should be part of the local economic development effort which is of benefit to the community and its labor force; an expression used in various definitions of economic development that advocate or reflect an approach balanced with jobs creation—see the Best Practice in the .network library.
