A deal maker is a bargainer who does what is necessary to come to an agreement. Wheeling and dealing is an expression used to identify the activities of an aggressive negotiator of business transactions. It's the idiom of politics, finance, real estate and business that identifies the actions of those who seek to gain advantages or profit from situations, conditions, miscalculations, and mistakes of others. Wheeler-dealers are people who advance their own interests. They may be suspected of using underhanded and unscrupulous methods. Wheeler-dealer identifies the politician who is willing to comprise principals and promises as well as renege on deals.
