data category:

... a separate item of factual information identified within an assemblage of information.

The definition of location data category is essentially same, except that is covers that which is deemed to be useful to enterprise developers and site selectors of interest to places seeking economic development. Categories are also known as location data elements. Either way they are useful to the extent to which they can be matched with the selection criteria of typical location projects or recognized by, for example, site location consultants.

Information is more convenient for prospects to use when location packages are organized by categories. The same is true for the websites of location data suppliers which, in addition to being economic developers as area and local development representatives, are various types of resource and service providers All types of resource and service providers are identified as contacts for .network users and, therefore, qualify for free listings in the GRC database.

Categories of location data is a .network resource document. It has a collection of various data elements as a reference. The collection is maintained by continuously reviewing location profiles and the websites of places seeking economic development as well as those of commercial and industrial real estate brokers in position as location data suppliers. Categories as site selection data standards can be found by reviewing the 25 spread sheets available at the website of International Economic Development Council. There location data categoris are scattered throughout approximately 1,200 items put together by IEDC in partnership with a development alliance.

The standards exist so location data suppliers can refer to them in preparing profiles and packages as well as promoting places to prospects at their websites. are provided by The Network in sexample, a location package is information intended to be useful for an, specifically one engage in site selection. Enterprise developers are business decision makers who need reliable, factual information about places of interest. The word information is typically used, rather than data, when making requests. A location package is most likely going to be referred to as an information package when requested from, say, a local chamber of commerce.

A well-organized package about a place seeking economic development prospects has its information separated into categories that match various items of selection criteria that are commonly used by site selection consultants. The International Economic Development Council publishes a set of 25 spread sheets with approximately 1,200 data elements that guide location data suppliers on how to

The Free Dictionary.com defines data as ... factual information, especially information organized for analysis or used to reason or make decisions (source of quote). Its definition of information states that it is is ... a collection of facts and data (source of quote).that this definition covers information categories.

The typical process of gathering and analyzing information begins with, for example, a request from a location data supplier for a package that contains information about such things as the labor force, transportation infrastructure, taxes, available real estate, local economy, business climate, enterprise development incentives, and so forth. It is well know among experienced location data suppliers that these are the various categories of information that prospects want. Therefore, the typical location package is organized into various sections, each representing a data category. It should be pointed out that this definition could well be for an information category, except that to be useful to the type of prospects, facts and reliability are key.
